You had to return home, your step mother was waiting for you to cook dinner for her two "precious" daughters. It was another one of those lazy Saturday afternoons where you finished selling all the flowers in the flower shop and have to hurry home to finish the house chores. In your hand was a bunch of midnight blue roses. They were the only ones left on the shelf and you didn't want to see them go to waste. You decided to take them home.

Suddenly you remember leaving the home key on the counter at the flower shop.

'Oh man, this means I have to walk back,' you thought. "Mother will never open the door for me and my sisters are out, probably with a group of boys." You sighed and started walking back to your flower shop.

You went in your shop, dumped the flowers behind the counter, grabbed your keys from a hook under the working bench and was about to walk out when a rich looking man with slicked back blond hair and sharp blue eyes walked into your shop. Everything about him screamed "manly" but in a dominating and strict way.

You smiled at him. "Good afternoon, sir. Sorry, our shop is closing now, all the flowers sell out quick on Saturdays."

"Is that so?" the man looked disappointed. "Do you think I can get any roses for my mother in another shop?"

You replied, "Sorry, but I think you'll only find one flower shop in a small town like this."

"I see," the man walked out sadly. You turned to check if you have gotten your keys when you see the bunch of midnight blue roses on your working bench. You raced out cradling the bunch of flowers in your arms.

"Wait, sir! If you don't mind, you may take these." You caught up to the man and placed the bunch of roses in his arms. His eyes twinkled with thanks.

"How may I repay you?" His voice was filled with gratitude.

You giggled. "Just take them. They were leftovers anyways."

"You don't know how grateful I am."

You smiled and bid farewell and left. Little did you know, this strict and rich man was a prince. Prince Ludwig- prince of the far away kingdom of Germany. And little did you know, this prince had grown a crush on you.

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you

"Prince Ludwig, Prince Ludwig! What beautiful flowers you have there! Are they for me?" The soldier cried when he saw the prince. His curl bounced happily with him as he jumped to Prince Ludwig. "Are you smiling? You never smile! Theses must be very nice roses!" He jumped on the prince and gave him a hug.

"Get off, you little- JUST GET OFF ME!" Germany grabbed the Italian by the neck and dumped him out of the carriage. The Italia made a (TT_TT) face but the prince ignored him. During his ride back to his palace, he day-dreams of you dancing with him at the upcoming ball. He day-dreams of you both face to face, gliding through the hall, twirling under the moonlight, hand in hand. At that moment he just wants you by his side.

You'd be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much

"Aren't I a lucky man? My parents allow me to hold a ball for my 20th birthday and I am allowed to invite any girl I like. I wish the girl I met today will be there."

At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you

Pardon the way that I stare.
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak

You walked home dreamily thinking about the man you met today. It was really rare for a traveller to pass by this town. You thought he was handsome and charming but you knew a girl like you will never get a guy like him. You dismissed the thoughts of his eyes staring at you as you walked home or the way he stood there, frozen by the sweet scent of your shampoo, watching you walk away.

But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real

You did give yourself a chance though, looking back to see if he was looking at you. Perhaps you could be just like Cinderella who finds her Prince Charming. You expected the man to look at you and wave you good bye. But when you look back, your heart fell- the man was there no more.

---Le time skip----

"_____! We are going to a ball! You know, the Prince from Germany, Prince Ludwig invited all the girls of this town to attend the ball. I think he is trying to find a hand in marriage!" yelled your mother. Step mother to be exact. Your mother passed away and being the playboy your father was, he remarried. The amazing thing was he married a woman that had two children that was your age. How did that woman make your dad settle down?

"Really mother, that's nice." You continued washing the dishes.

"You're coming," smirked your mother.

'Oh no, whenever I see that smirk, I know there's nothing good."

Her smirk grew wider. "We are going to dress you up and take you to the ball. But dear, with a face like yours, do you really think the Prince will look at you?"

Ouch, that hurt. Just because you didn't have the money and time to treat yourself to nice makeup and jewellery doesn't mean you didn't look nice. Ok, you were pretty manly looking at times and you were a bit on the heavy side since you had to finish the leftovers every night (why waste food?), it doesn't mean you can't get a guy right?

"Why bother bringing me there?" you murmured.

Whether your step-mother heard you or was trying to explain your purpose at the ball, you don't know. But your heart broke a second time for that day when you heard her reply: "You will be holding my daughter's purses when they dance with the prince. Now chop chop, get ready, we can't have you bringing down my daughter's reputation because my step daughter looks indecent."

--- At the ball~!---

You sipped on your glass of yellow liquid nervously. You had no idea what it was but every sip you took seemed to calm your nerves. Everyone was going all out on this. Fancy dresses which probably costed more than your flower shop, big hairdos, makeup, lots of makeup and heels than look like they were going to break their owners ankles.

You stared down at your plain cream dress. You might have worn a curtain, it was the same. You wore only a small amount of makeup, nothing heavy (you didn't want your sisters using you as their canvas) but now you wished more makeup would hide your shameful choice of clothing. Your tiny silver key-shaped necklace was nothing compared to the big diamonds on the accessories and the dresses of the people themselves. You shied away into the shadows of the ballroom, hoping your heavy flats tapping against the wooden floor wouldn't draw the Prince's attention.

The room quickly became silent and the lights shone to the top of the stairs. There stood the Prince of Germany and when you lifted your eyes to the top, your jaw dropped. The man who you gave the flowers to was the Prince- Prince Ludwig.

You stood there staring up at him as he gave out a speech. Like all the other girls in the room, your full attention was to him.

After his speech, he was told to find a girl to lead the first dance. Being the gentle man he was, he told his father, the King to lead the dance.

You expected him to go around to find the girl he wanted to dance with but he took a seat at thrones and looked out at the crowd. He looked like he was looking for someone but  you couldn't be sure- he was too far away.

The prince was asked by many girls to dance with him but many he reject all of them. Some were persistent like your sisters but he merely just frowned, excused himself and walked away.

Time ticked by quickly that night. You stood in the shadows, glad to enjoy the music. When you were small, your mother really like music and would either sing or play an instrument to you. You would clap in joy and sway to the music. Sometimes, your feet would carry your off, dancing and twirling to the music. But tonight, you kept to the shadows.

You were scared that your step-mother's words were right. You would never have a chance with the prince.

You sneaked out to the balcony to clear your mind when you heard some angry men talk behind you.

"Who does he think he is, rejecting all the girls? Is he trying to play hard to get? I mean, he's a man! He should act like a man. He shouldn't be playing hard to get like a woman. Why do all the girls even drool all over him? I believe I am more beautiful than he is," said a man in a heavy French accent.

"Ha! You, handsome? So what? Unlike us Englishmen, we are gentlemen. We treat women right. And what has that German got up his sleeve? As far as I can see, he's not treating any girl "right"," the other man sniggered.

Not wanting to get involved, you sneaked past the men and bumped into something hard. You closed your eyes in pain and hoped it wasn't a vase that was about to topple over- phew, it wasn't. But it was a very depressed Prince.

You curtsied to him before you turned to leave but he grabbed your arm and looked at your face. You felt a blush creeping onto your face.

"You're… you're that florist that gave me the flowers."

You smiled and curtsied again. "Sorry, I never knew you were a Prince. Now if you will excuse me…" You walked away.

"No please, wait." The Prince's grip on your arm was tight, like he never wanted to let you go. "Please, have this one dance with me. It's the last song of the night."

"But…" you trailed away. Your heart skipped a beat. Were you going to really dance with the Prince?

Before you knew it, you were twirling in his arms. Many of the ladies stared at you in jealousy, disbelief, hatred, and awe.

"You know, I haven't found out your name yet, and you know mine."

"Oh, it's ____," you answered. Not that it mattered. After tonight, your step mother will definitely tell you off for talking to the Prince. She would give you the speech about making informed choices and the Prince is not an option. You could already hear her nagging by your ear.

The song broke off that that was the end. The end of the song, the end of the ball, and the end to seeing the Prince.

"I- I guess this is farewell,"

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you

"Wait, you know, I have been thinking of you ever since we met. You're just so beautiful and carefree. You light up my life like no other can. You're- you're too good to be true. Please, stay at the palace of the night."

"I have to go. I've been here too long." You turned to go but Ludwig pulled your back into his arms. The lavender shampoo you used drove him to the brim of madness and a great desire for you.

"No, you can't leave. Stay." His voice was demanding but you knew you wouldn't have any future with the prince. Why waste your time? Why waste his time?

"I- I can't, I have to go. Please, if you would excuse me, I- my sisters are waiting."

"No, don't go," he sounded pleading now. "Please."

You backed away from him. Tears threatened to roll down your eyes. You shook your head to clear your thoughts but all your thoughts were swarming together now. You wanted to be like Cinderella, leave your shoe and just make a run for it. But you know fairy tales never exist.

"I've never done this before but," Ludwig got down on his knees. The whole room gasped and went silent. Everyone stoped dancing. "Please," he begged, "Stay with me."

You ran back to his side and tried to pull him up but he refused to bulge. "Get up!" you whispered urgently, tugging on his arm. "People are watching!"

"Let them watch," he smiled sadly. "What Prince would I be if I don't get the woman I want?"

I need you baby, and if it's quite all right,
I need you baby to warm a lonely night
I love you baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh pretty baby, don't let me down I pray
Oh pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, oh baby let me love you, oh baby....

You kneeled there next to him in shock.

"Please, just don't leave. I- I know we haven't met for long time and… and I don't know the real you but… but I-I think I love you."

Your eyes were wide as you gasped. Did the prince just say he loves you? You stared lovingly into his eyes and his lips slowly got closer and closer to yours until, bam, you two met and it was like fireworks in the background.

Maybe fairy tales are real. You just have to wait.
Please correct me of any grammar or spelling mistakes, etc.

Disclaimer: I do not own:
Ludwig ("Hetalia"- Hidekazu Himaruya)
"Cinderella" (Disney version)
"Can't take my eyes off you"- Brian Tse (Original by Frankie Valli)
and finally i do not own you.

I know it doesn't sound complete but I have ended it here for the song has finished. I might continue it with either a lemon or just another sappy romantic chapter.
